The flow of our basement is very unique for a 1900 house. Mostly because it has tall 9 foot ceilings. Most are too small to have a livable space. The main living are flow into the bathroom and 4th non-conforming bedroom. I love having a guest suite, especially now with a crying infant!
• sturdy, dark fixtures. The brushed look is my favorite .

I never liked the wall color down here. A little too much yellow tone in the brown.
But Love:
• my HE washer and dryer
• the dark wood of the sink

I have always loved this door. It leads to out furnace room. Which actually has enough space to store some of Brian's tools. But it's a warm color with a nice handle.

Love
• extra cabinet space! Not sure why they didn't just make it all cabinets? But it's nice to have storage
I've also enjoyed the tile floor. No carpet in any of the bathrooms. I hate carpet in bathrooms!!

Guest BEDROOM-
In desperate need of DIYing a headboard

Lets start from the ground up so to speak. I want to record all the things I love about this place if we are going to be moving soon. Plus keep all the ideas for our fixer upper. So here we go...
For a 113 year old home our basement amazing! It's a great space and has been an amazing guest suite for countless friends and family.
I never loved the brown that the walls were. Too much yellow tone in the brown. But I do love how warm it always felt down here. Also, the baseboards, trim, and cabinets are the standard pine color. Not horrible but not my favorite. The cabinets also had GOLD (sick, nasty, gross) cheaply handles and knobs. We never got around to changing those. NO gold anywhere in the new house!
Built ins are a must!! They are such great space savers! I like the neutral carpets. Another must in the recessed lighting. There are ton of dimmer switches through out the house. It is wonderful to have in the TV room. In the bathroom - all the bathrooms - have timed fans and lights. Who knows why but they used a vent to cover up something on the ceiling.
